Sri Lanka’s leading integrated financial services provider, HNB FINANCE PLC, commemorated International Women’s Day 2024 under the theme “Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress” with a special programme aimed at recognising and empowering the female workforce.
The celebration, held at the Auditorium at the HNB FINANCE Head Office premises in Nawala on March 8, 2024, featured a range of activities to honour and support women in the workplace, and saw widespread participation from female staff from across the ranks at HNB FINANCE.
The highlight of the event was the presence of Stephanie Siriwardhana, a prominent Sri Lankan-Lebanese TV host, model, and beauty pageant titleholder, who graced and led the programme.
The event commenced with a photography session to capture poignant moments, followed by welcome arrangements where gifts, snacks, and beverages were distributed to attendees.
HNB FINANCE Managing Director/CEO Chaminda Prabhath delivered an opening address, extending a warm welcome and emphasizing the importance of investing in women for societal progress. “At HNB FINANCE, we recognize the invaluable contribution of women to our organization and society as a whole. International Women’s Day provides us with an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and reaffirm our commitment to empowering women in the workplace.”
Led by Stephanie Siriwardhana, the session titled “Magneto: For Strengthened Interpersonal Relationships” was conducted under three phases- the Awareness phase, which focused on positive psychology, building confidence, positivity and emotional intelligence; the Communication phase, which educated the audience on communication styles, verbal and nonverbal communication, and the Grooming & Etiquette phase.
